Constitutional Convention Member Involvement Process

 Why a constitutional convention?

Since Washington Youth Soccer’s inception, the original operational and governing structures that were established have provided a solid foundation for membership growth and the development of innovative programs. However, until this year, these structures had not changed very much from our startup 41 years ago as an all volunteer organization to today’s $2.8 M organization with 128,000 members and nine staff members. In order to provide soccer playing youth with the best possible soccer experience, and make Washington Youth Soccer as responsive as possible to our membership, we launched a constitutional convention process in 2008, and through this web site, are providing the various documents that describe the new system and seek your feedback and input.

Member involvement process

Many elements of Washington Youth Soccer’s structure, policies, plans and programs are up for review and updating, so the process includes many elements that are described by a number of documents. The documents posted here allow members with an interest in improving a) soccer opportunities for kids and b) the system we use to administer soccer, visibility of the process and the opportunity to provide input. Please direct your input and questions to our consultant for this project, Jan Glick, at jan@janglick.com.
